Water White Standard (Intertanko)
Dry, odour-free, free of visual residues of previous cargoes and/or foreign matter.
Colour test: Wall-wash with suitable solvent shows:
• colour PtCo (ASTM D 1209) 15 or less. (No visible discoloration compared to a blank sample)
On-board test conducted by ship’s crew
Visual inspection of the tank and wall wash with Methanol for colour only.
Master to confirm that the on-board tests were conducted via a tank cleanliness certificate.
Charterers/Shippers Surveyor
Visual inspection of tanks and wall wash for colour test (suitable solvent).
Charterer/surveyor may choose not to conduct a wall wash
